Michael T. Heath is Professor and Fulton Watson Copp Chair Emeritus in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University in 1978. His research interests are in scientific computing, particularly numerical linear algebra and optimization, and in parallel computing. He is an ACM Fellow, a SIAM Fellow, an Associate Fellow of the AIAA, and a member of the European Academy of Sciences. For more detailed information, see the links at left.
